It’s so great to be back with the latest installment of “15 Most Beautiful”. This week’s installment is all about modern farmhouse kitchens. My great friend, designer Tracey is currently helping me to design a modern farmhouse spec home.
The brainstorming is raging as we tackle the kitchen. I’ve been collecting inspiration on Pinterest and I want to share 15 of my favorite modern farmhouse kitchens.
Although they all have their own unique design styles, there are some common themes that unify this design trend. This style is so beautiful! Let me know your favorite!
CLEAN AND RUSTIC
This beautiful, white kitchen is my favorite. It features brass hardware and reclaimed wood accents. This kitchen is a perfect blend of rustic and modern with farmhouse charm.
DRAMATICAL BLACK AND WHITE
Although this photo kept popping up in my Pinterest feed as an advertisement for lighting, I was more interested in the cabinet colors. The black and white combination of the upper and lower cabinets is my favorite. This modern farmhouse kitchen is a refreshing take! It is modern farmhouse perfection, with gold accents!
STONE SPLENDOR
This kitchen is warm and inviting thanks to the stone wall and marble backsplash. Modern lighting and wood beams combine classic farmhouse design elements with modern design elements in a perfect way.
UNFINISHED OAK BEAUTY
I love the simplicity of unfinished oak and the clean white tiles mixed with the raw wood beams of this kitchen. It gives me all the farmhouse vibes. This glass cabinet, which includes all white dishware, is a great way to keep it clean and yet still feel warm and approachable.
SMALL SPACE-BIG EFFECT
You can achieve modern farmhouse style in any space. The kitchen features all the elements I love: Shiplap on the walls and open shelving. There is also modern hardware and a beautiful range hood. This kitchen is my favorite, thanks to the bright white cabinets combined with the antique glass doors fronts.
SIMPLE OPEN SHELVEING
Sometimes, all you need to give your kitchen a modern look are new cabinets. This kitchen’s open shelves give it a modern, fresh look that isn’t too fussy, but still makes a big impression.
LIGHT AND BRIGHT
The best thing about this farmhouse-style kitchen is the fact that it has only a few elements that are farmhouse-like. The open shelves, rustic wood details on the island and the wood range hood are all great. There is nothing fancy about this look, it’s just light and bright with a farmhouse twist.
DRAMA NOT EXPECTED
This kitchen caught my eye on Pinterest. I was immediately drawn to all the details that make it feel both warm and modern. The dark wood countertops and the perimeter cabinets are my favorite features. The sleek cement floors give the kitchen a modern look while the drop wood beams add that farmhouse touch. The kitchen is filled with all the design elements that I love, but without losing warmth or style.
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL
It takes a strong sense for style to paint your kitchen cabinets black. The kitchen is bold and has a farmhouse look, but it still looks modern and bright. This kitchen is complemented perfectly by the brass hardware and light fixtures.
SOFT AND SUBTLE
This soft, subtle farmhouse kitchen is a contrast to the original kitchen. It’s still striking but it’s done in a subtle and soft way. The oversized hardware and hinges on the center island as well as the soft gray color of perimeter cabinets are both a highlight. The look is completed by the simple pendant lights above the center island.
FRESH AND SIMPLE
This beautiful farmhouse kitchen is a great reason to share it with your friends. But, I’m sold when you add the cement tile backsplash! The backsplash’s subtle color adds interest and isn’t too overwhelming. This kitchen hits all the right notes.
WALL OF GLASS
This wall of glass cabinets is amazing! This look is amazing! It’s both modern and warm. Did you see the black range and rangehood? Eek! It’s amazing how many modern farmhouse elements are included in this kitchen.

DETAILS and DETAILS
This is a unique combination of colors and elements that you have never seen in a kitchen. I haven’t. Dark paint with brass accents is stunning. Add in natural oak cabinet fronts, and two different stone slabs and WOW! It’s beautiful!
BRASS BEAUTY
Modern kitchens are becoming increasingly popular with different metal accents. This kitchen did it right, using bright chrome and aged brass as accents. Four (yes, four!) brass pendant lights over the center island complete this look. The four brass pendant lights above the center island complete this look. Did you notice the tile backsplash in pattern? Yep! It’s just right!
ECLECTIC FARMHOUSE
This kitchen has been shared before. But modern farmhouses are right when it’s right. The large pendant light makes a bold statement, yet it still works well hanging from the drop beams. Genius!
